Trails @ McCulley Farms

Example of wide path on the McCulley property.  Nicely shaded and good footing.

Example of a single track trail. Again, nicely shaded and good footing.

Another wide path.  This one is along the river.

This is the Wells homestead entrance.  You'll ride through a lot of history when you are on what I've marked as the "Green Loop".  You really need to read from the McCulley Farms site to find out just what type of history went on here!

More of the Wells homestead.

Even the outhouse!  Wow!  Those were the days!

The front porch of the main house on the Wells homestead.

Many of the Wells family are burried here in their cemetery.  This is Hailey and I back in 2007 (my hair was shorter!).  I remember this weekend:  it was Memorial Day Weeked and I had just seen the ultrasound informing me that she was indeed in foal!  Her filly, Hailey's Big Nose Kate, was born on March 1, 2008.  Look for "Kate" to start distance riding in a few more years.  :-)

You'll also ride along the Withlacoochee River on the Green Loop.

The flood of 2009 was so bad that this refrigerator was left in up in the trees - the river was that high!  Keep an eye out for it up there still today.

Barn #4 is the food/entertainment barn.  There are also 2 restrooms inside this barn.

They are nicely decorated, real bathrooms!

This is the house that TC "Buck" McCulley was born in.  No one lives in it anymore.  Buck now lives near the entrance to the property with his wife, Wimpy.  Their son, Richard, lives in the main house on the property with his wife, Carol.

This is the original barn and barnyard area.  Poco now is the only resident.  Poco is a 28 year old quarter horse.  Stop by and say "hi".

Here is Poco!

There are about 125 head of cattle on the property as well.

Pasture behind the "wooden barn area" where most of the cattle graze.

My gelding, Lance, hanging out in the aisle way of the wooden barn.

Dogs, on leash, can go anywhere in ride camp with the exception of the food/entertainment barn.

Coffee and breakfast pastry area in the morning.  Later in the day, iced tea, sodas, and water will be served here along with lunch & dinner.

The McCulley's will serve meals here.  Dinner the night before is included for competitors.  Extra meal tickets for crew members can be purchased in advance.  Breakfast and lunch can be purchased at the ride.

This is the outside of barn #4 (food/entertainment).  You can see the bonfire area here; come join us Friday and Saturday nights for social time and s'mores.

Coming up the driveway @ McCulley Farms.

The barns: some w/stalls and 1 for food/entertainment.

15 electric spots in the "wooden barn area".  Each 2 electric spots share a water spigot.

This is the "wooden barn".  It has 15 covered stalls.  In this area there are also another 8 covered stalls for anyone who wants to camp primitive.

This is just 1 of 3 barns full of stalls.  As you can see, there are plenty of covered stalls for everyone.

The 2 showers in the "wooden barn area."

This is the 2 showers and 2 restrooms near the vet area.

Cabin in the background.  Main water trough.  Electric spots down the shade line to the left (going towards the cabin) and electric spots going to the right of the water trough.  There are 14 electric spots here and then open pasture area for primitive camping.

This is the shade line electric spots mentioned above.

Pulse Box and Vet Area in the shade to the right towards the bathhouse.

There are 8 more electric sites here, behind the McCulley's main house.  There is another huge field to the right for primitive camping and also an area set aside for crewing.

Another look at those sites behind the house.
